Ouachita Paddling Trails to be unveiled Wednesday at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge

MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. - Discover Monroe-West Monroe is unveiling the Ouachita Paddling Trails on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 3:30 p.m.

The event kicks will feature a short unveiling ceremony at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge Boat Dock, located at Black Bayou Boat Dock Road, Monroe, LA, 71203.

The ceremony will be followed by a guided paddle on the new trails.

The event is free and open to all paddling enthusiasts. Be sure to bring your own kayak or canoe.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
