The West Monroe- West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 2024 Future Entrepreneur Academy July 12, 15-19.
This free camp is available for high school students whishing to own or operate their own small business during their career. This unique learning opportunity is designed to teach the basics of owning and operating a small business.
High school students will be immersed in material and experiences that highlight what it means to be an entrepreneur and equip them with the skills necessary to thrive as a young business owner. Local entrepreneurs will teach students the basics of starting and running a business. Students will be given an assessment to determine their strengths, and based on their strengths will be placed in teams. Those teams will collaborate and develop an entrepreneurial vision to ultimately pitch their business plan confidently.
"This academy is an opportunity for us to foster entrepreneurship right here in our own community through our youth," said Kristopher Kelley, Executive Director of the Chamber. "This free event can jump start a lifetime of ambition and we look forward to partnering with these young minds!"
