The City of West Monroe Housing Authority will be taking housing choice voucher (Section 8) applications for their waiting list on Tuesday, Oct. 24 and Wednesday, Oct. 25.
Applications will be accepted on October 24 and 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Monroe Community Center, located at 400 S. 5 Street in West Monroe.
The waiting list order will be based on date, time and preferences. Interested applicants must have a valid ID and social security card to fill out an application.
The West Monroe Housing Authority administers federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly known as Section 8) for residents. The program provides rental assistance for elderly, handicapped, disabled and low income families to afford decent, safe and sanitary housing in the private market.
