Ouachita Sheriff’s Deputies are currently investigating a scam in our area involving a caller identifying themselves as Deputy Tolbird or another name with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. The caller then tells the potential scam victim that a relative of theirs that is incarcerated in the Ouachita Correctional Center needs to be released due to illness or overcrowding. The caller then tells the victim to use a cash app to send $180.00 to post bond. Once the money is received, the caller says they will go before a judge to arrange release. Once again this is another variance of a scam to take your money.
