Due to the expected hazardous conditions associated with the incoming winter weather, Mayor Friday Ellis has permitted the use of the Liller Marbles Community Center as a cold weather shelter. The center is located at 2950 Renwick Street in Monroe.

As of right now, the shelter will open at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 and will offer cots as needed. Meals will be provided.

Covid-19 precautions will be adhered to. Masks are required and will be provided if necessary, social distancing will be enforced and personal protective equipment will be used.

Monroe Police will provide security.

All in need are welcome to the cold weather shelter. The shelter will remain open 24 hours a day as long as the inclement weather remains.
