Recycling Christmas trees

Ouachita Green and the cities of Monroe and West Monroe will be recycling Christmas trees from December 26 through January 6. Trees can be brought to the north parking lot of the Monroe Civic Center and the Farmer's Market in West Monroe. You must remove all decorations including: ornaments, lights, tinsel, and stands. These accessories could contaminate the recycling process. This year instead of putting your tree in a bag for recycling simply wrap it in a blanket for a clean and easy transport. The Christmas trees will be chopped into the mulch that will be used in gardens thoughout the Twin Cities.
