Family Promise Thrift Shop will be merging its two locations January 9th.

Family Promise of Ouachita and the Monroe Chamber of Commerce are hosting a ribbon-cutting Tuesday, January 9th for the opening of their newly consolidated thrift shop on 3134 Louisville Avenue.

Family Promise of Ouachita was created in 2009 to aid families who have become homeless. This organization works to provide shelter, food, and classes to help families get back on their feet and into homes.

In the past, Family Promise has operated two thrift shops to help support the shelter. They are now consolidating down into one easy location in the Eastgate Shopping Center on Louisville Ave. At the ribbon-cutting January 9th, attendees will have the opportunity to check out what the newly re-opened thrift shop has to offer.

Family Promise of Ouachita helps families by providing shelter and food in local churches, as well as transportation. They also help by offering budgeting and financial classes, in which families work to create a case plan in order to put the pieces back together and become self-sustaining again.

Family Promise Thrift Shop is located at 3134 Louisville Avenue in the Eastgate Shopping Center. The store and shelter are accepting donations of clothing, household items, furniture, and non-perishable foods. All proceeds and donations will go towards helping the shelter continue doing work for the community.
