Delhi the hawk is visiting again after his appearance at the Fall Celebration.

This Saturday, April 15th Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge is combining Earth Day, Migratory Bird Day, and Tax Day into one Spring Celebration. The Celebration will be held from 10: 00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the refuge.

The celebration will include an egg hunt, the turning of the blue goose, a ribbon cutting, a paddle board demonstrations by H2GO, and many fun activities for kids. Dale Barry will be there as a special guest with his hawk, Delhi along with the Forestry Club from Louisiana Tech University.

The egg hunt will kick off at 11:00 a.m. followed by the big blue goose turning at 11:30 a.m. The turning of the goose signifies the change in geese's migratory pattern during this season. After the goose turning there will be a ribbon cutting to commemorate the addition of a children's book nook, donated by Monroe's Girl Scouts, Troop 83.  There will be activities for kids throughout the day such as crafts and the 'Migration Olympics'.
