Assistant District Attorney Madeleine Slaughter feels she can improve the operation of the Ouachita Clerk Of Court office.
Slaughter says in observing the clerk's office, she's concerned about turnover issues and what she sees as a lack of order. "I've have been to other clerk offices and am familiar with how they function. So, I know the functions of the clerk. It's an important role," she said.
Slaughter says she would move to implement more technology, including issuance of passports. She also noted she would look into possibly reducing some fees of the clerk's office.
