Laryssa Bonacquisti is ready to share her passion for people and for the state this year as Miss Louisiana 2017. Laryssa is a senior broadcasting journalism major at Louisiana State University, and is excited to be around the world of media promoting the Miss Louisiana Organization.

Throughout this year Laryssa will be traveling across Louisiana promoting the Miss Louisiana Organization and raising awareness for her platform, Team Charlotte- Fighting Pancreatic Cancer. Laryssa 's grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about a year ago. She shares that, "My goal this year is to use the fight for my grandmother and the legacy she left with me to advocate for more awareness for pancreatic cancer." She will also get the chance to represent Louisiana in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, along with her co-talent Lucky and Lucy, Laryssa's ventriloquist partners.

More information about the Miss Louisiana Organization can be found here. More information on Team Charlotte and on donating to help fund research for pancreatic cancer can be foundhere.
