The North Central Louisiana Master Gardeners host the 5th annual Gardening Seminar on Saturday, February 6th in Lomax Hall on the Louisiana Tech campus. The seminar, aptly titled "The Birds and the Bees; the Flowers and the Trees," focuses on the importance of pollinators.
"We're hoping that people begin to realize the importance of pollinators in our gardens -- to enhance the garden environment and to also save the lives of some of our pollinators that are going toward extinction," says Master Gardener Kathy Stone.
Presenters will talk about attracting hummingbirds to your garden, Monarch butterfly conservation, and how to make your garden truly yours. Each speech will be followed by a "meet-and-greet" session where audience members can chat with the experts.
Part of the mission of the Lincoln Parish based organization is to provide educational opportunities for the local community.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with presentations beginning at 8:30. There is a $15 registration fee.
