Black Bayou hosts Fall Celebration Saturday

National Wildlife Refuge Week is highlighted Saturday at Black Bayou in the annual Fall Celebration.

Friends of Black Bayou present a free day full of fun and education.  "There will be animals from Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo, birdhouse building, a butterfly release, and much more," says Refure Ranger Nova Clarke.

Guests can enjoy a free fish fry, and other treats, including Black Bayou Mud Pie.  

Kids will enjoy participating the traditional "turning of the blue goose", to signal the change of migration season.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge just off Highway 165 North in Monroe.
