Harvey was downgraded overnight to Tropical Depression status but still remains a dangerous storm for our area. Flooding and tornadoes are the biggest risk for the waterlogged storm system.
As of 5:30 am T.D. Harvey has maximum sustained winds of 35 M.P.H. and is moving to the northeast at 9 M.P.H. The system is currently near Monroe, La and will continue into Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee later today.

There also is another concern for the Gulf Coast. Another tropical system is now forming in the Gulf of Mexico and could impact the same areas hit by Harvey as early next week. There is also a storm that has formed off the coast of Africa. That system is too far away to project any impact on North America.
