Local Police Receive Grants from Justice Department

Local police will benefit from a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. 14 grants totaling $2.3 million have been awarded to police departments across the state of Louisiana.  

The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office will receive $12,780 to update vehicle equipment. 

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office will use its $90,640 award to help connectivity of police cars and officers. The department will install wireless vehicle routers and digi-ticket devices. 

The Office of Justice Programs provides federal leadership in the nation's abilities to fight crime by awarding grants to support local police agencies.
