The Schepis Museum is hosting Water/Ways, an exhibit from the Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street, September 30-November 10. The exhibit explores the relationship between people and water.
"Water/Ways" is an exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) Museum on Main Street (MoMS) series. Kristopher Kelley, Assistant Manager of the Schepis Museum, says the exhibit is about the nature of water in people's daily lives. From agriculture to processing, water affects every aspect of human life.
"Water plays a central role in our lives," says Kelley, "This exhibit highlights that by talking about pollution and the future water will play in our lives going forward." According to Kelley, water has historically been a critical element in our region, especially the Ouachita River.
