The mission of the Desiard St. Shelter is to serve guests by enriching their mind, body, and spirit.
Dan Nash

The Desiard St. Shelter, founded over twenty years ago, serves the less fortunate in the Monroe area by providing food, shelter, life skills, and love.

After serving the community for many years, local churches took over the shelter in 2015. Through this process, the shelter was able to move from being a 3 1/2 hour to a 24/7 shelter. The shelter can now provide three meals a day, laundry facilities, and showers. Desiard St. Shelter also provides full case management, life-coaching, and life-building skills.

More information about the Desiard St. Shelter is available here.
