The ride sharing service Lyft is expected to begin operations in the Monroe area next week according to Mayor Jamie Mayo. Lyft is a service that upon request will pick you up and take you to your designated location. Rides are requested by a smartphone app.
Multiple background checks of the drivers and vehicle checks occur.
Riders must be at least age 18 or older to use the service.
