The 65th Annual Louisiana Peach Fest begins Friday in Ruston.
The long-running festival features music entertainment, arts, crafts, and, of course, peaches! Ruston Chamber of Commerce member Brandon Sutherland says popular crowd favorites take to the Railroad stage both nights. "On Friday, we'll have country music artist J.T. Hodges, and on Saturday, everyone's favorite flashback band, The Molly Ringwalds," says Sutherland.
Special attractions include the Peach Art Exhibit, a BMX show, parade, and an attempt at making a world record peach cobbler. "It is going to be 16 feet by about 8 feet, and weigh about 2,000 pounds," says Peach Fest sponsor Ronnie Rawls.
The American Peach Parade is Saturday morning at 9 in downtown Ruston. The Festival Rodeo is Saturday night at 8 p.m. at the North Louisiana Exhibition Center.
