The faculty of the Political Science program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe are presenting a panel discussion on the United States impeachment process. 

"Impeachment 1001: The Process, Ethics and Political Lessons from Impeachment Proceedings" will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at 6 p.m. in the ULM Student Union Building Ballroom, "The Hangar." 

The process for impeachment, ethical issues, whistleblower laws and past impeachments will all be discussed with the public to examine what issues are faced with coming proceedings.

Caleb Evans threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns and Louisiana Monroe beat South Alabama 30-17 on Saturday night in a Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams.

Louisiana Monroe (2-2) led 17-10 entering the fourth and Evans had the Warhawks on the move. Facing fourth-and-seven at the South Alabama 33-yard line, he completed a 12-yard pass to Josh Pedersen for a first down. The nine-play, 61-yard drive ended when Evans completed a 21-yard TD pass to Jonathan Hodoh for a 23-10 lead.

The University of Louisiana Monroe Gerontology Program is hosting its second Conference on Disability Advocacy on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The conference will be held on the seventh floor of the library on campus and is free to the public.

The Conference on Disability Advocacy is meant to help empower people with disabilities and to further encourage a disability-friendly community. October is commemorated as the National Disability Employment Month and this year's theme is "The Right Talent, Right Now."

Ouachita Parish residents had a chance to meet local candidates at the 90.3 KEDM Public Radio Candidate Forums. KEDM, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Government Association hosted three Candidate Forums in September. 

The Louisiana Senate Candidate Forum took place Thursday, September 5 at 6 p.m. for Senate Districts 32, 33, and 35 at “The Terrace” 7th Floor Conference Center at the University of Louisiana at Monroe Library.

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at the University of Louisiana Monroe is partnering with Louisiana Economic Development to bring "Business and Breakfast" to life.

This event takes place on June 21 from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. and will be held in Room 117 of Stubbs Hall on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus. Hosted by Taylor Nelson, marketing and training coordinator, and Christina Davis, senior business consultant, this event will be an informational and application meeting for the upcoming SEBD Roundtable program.

The open house will be from 6-9 p.m. Current ULM Online Students are encouraged to come and meet the people they have been interacting with online. Prospective students are encouraged to come and find out more about the online programs ULM offers.

Representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, the ULM Online Office, and Academic Programs will be on hand to answer any questions.

The College of Arts, Education, and Sciences at the University of Louisiana Monroe is hosting the Spring 2019 Art Crawl at several campus locations on Thursday, February 28, from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition in the CAES Dean’s Conference Room will honor ULM’s 50th anniversary as a university.

Admission is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Kitty Degree School of Nursing acquired a $26,000 grant from the Living Well Foundation in West Monroe.

The grant will help fund the Mobile Bridge to Health project at ULM. According to Dr. Rhonda Hensley, associate director of the graduate program at the ULM Kitty Degree School of Nursing, the program will provide free medical and counseling services to much of the homeless population in Ouachita Parish.
