On his first day as president of the University of Louisiana Monroe, Dr. Ronald Berry, joined by his wife, Dr. Christine Berry, announced their establishment of the ULM Opportunity Fund, to be administered by the ULM Foundation.

The Berrys started the fund with a personal commitment of $100,000, with the original goal of matching that amount through alumni, community, and business support.

Dr. Ronald Berry has been named the 9th President of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The full Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System selected Berry with a 9-3-3 vote.

Dr. Berry is the Dean of the College of Business and Social Sciences at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. 

The selection was postponed a week because of Hurricane Laura.

Northeast Delta HSA is a division of the Office of Behavioral Health of the Louisiana Department of Health. Its Operation Golden Years initiative focuses on serving citizens ages 60 and above with information, support and services.

The Gerontology Lecture Series commemorates Older Americans' Month Wednesday, May 2 at noon in the SUB Ballroom B on the ULM campus. The panel discussion features Dean Ron Berry, Dean H. Glenn Anderson, Jr., and Vice President Dr. Eric Pani.

The Northeast Louisiana Workforce Development Summit is Tuesday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m. The goal of the summit is to build and strengthen relationships between the business industry and education in the Northeast Louisiana region.

The summit begins with opening remarks from Courtney Hornsby, the president of the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce. Afterward, speakers Larry Alexander of the State Department of Education and Paul Helton of the Louisiana Economic Development are presenting the "Importance of Partnerships."
