Senate candidates visited the University of Louisiana Monroe on Thursday night for the first of three KEDM political forums.  Jim Fannin, Jay Morris, and Matt Parker spoke with forum moderator Cory Crowe.

The forums are an opportunity for residents, business and community leaders to learn more about the candidates. Forums are broadcast live on 90.3 KEDM Public Radio, KEDM.org and Facebook Live; and archived at KEDM.org. 

Former special counsel Robert Mueller is appearing in two separate hearings before the House judiciary and intelligence committees. Though Mueller has said his report on Russian interference in the 2016 election is his testimony, lawmakers have insisted that he testify in person. Watch the proceedings live at 7:30 a.m.

  • Nearly 3,000 Louisiana National Guard soldiers remain deployed around the state and ready to assist in emergency response situations.

In the 1970s, two little girls met at an elementary school in Miami, Fla., and became close friends. One was black, and one was white.

Dr. Sharony Green is now an assistant professor of history at the University of Alabama, and she said her friend Beth helped her during a tough time.

Research shows that one in three young people will go through an abusive or unhealthy relationship. 90.3 KEDM's Policy and a Pint: Dating Violence Prevention looks at those issues with a panel of local experts. The live radio discussion was recorded Tuesday, March 6 at Planter's Gastropub at 101 North Grand Street in Monroe.  

Panelists include Daryl Johns from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, Melanie Clark from the Wellspring Alliance, and Valerie Bowman of the Family Justice Center.
