ULM School Of Pharmacy Receives Full Accreditation

The Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of Louisiana Monroe is fully accredited through June 2022.

Dr. Glenn Anderson, who began in August 2017 as Dean of the College of Health & Pharmaceutical Sciences, initiated policies and methods to correct these issues before he even arrived in Monroe.

ULM Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Eric Pani said, "Our vision statement on the strategic plan is for ULM to be recognized in the top 200 universities in the nation for excellence in teaching research and innovation, with an emphasis on the health sciences."

The public is invited to learn more about the VORTEX-SE project and the University of Louisiana Monroe's role in this cooperative effort with the NOAA — the National Oceanic and Administrative Administration —  at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 21 at the Monroe Regional Airport. The event will be in Avflight Hangar #3.

The Verification of the Origins of Tornadoes Experiment-Southeast, or VORTEX-SE, focuses on improving understanding of the unique characteristics of storms and tornadoes in the Southeast United States.

ULM To Host "Browse On The Bayou" Nov. 4

On Saturday, Nov. 4, beginning at 7:30 a.m., the University of Louisiana Monroe will host its annual Browse on the Bayou, a specially designed campus visit day for high school juniors and seniors and transfer students.

This campus preview day is a great opportunity for potential students to meet with faculty, staff and other students as they tour campus and learn about various academic opportunities, student organizations and scholarships at ULM.

ULM Responds To Offensive Social Media Incident

Wednesday it was brought to the attention of University of Louisiana Monroe administration that an offensive social media exchange on private accounts had been made public.

The comments were in violation of the ULM Code of Student Conduct and were reportedly made by members of a campus fraternity.

The matter was turned over to President Nick J. Bruno and the Office of Student Affairs.

The University of Louisiana Monroe will break ground for the new Foundation and Alumni Affairs Center at 4400 Bon Aire will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 13.

To be built on the site of the former Anna Gray Noe Alumni Center on Bayou DeSiard, the new facility will house the ULM Foundation and Alumni Affairs staff and will greet friends and alumni of the university when they come back to campus.

The two-story building will be approximately 9,500 square feet with 6,748 square feet heated. It is expected to open in the summer of 2018.

Four University of Louisiana Monroe faculty members and two staff members were the 2017 winners of the ULM Foundation Awards of Excellence.

The awards were presented Thursday as part of ULM President Dr. Nick Bruno’s State of the University address at Brown Auditorium. The annual presentation of the awards features winners chosen based on a set of standards determined by a selection committee.

The University of Louisiana Monroe is on a roll.

That was the message ULM President Dr. Nick Bruno shared with the crowd Thursday at Brown Auditorium.

“This is my sixth State of the University address, and it’s the most optimistic of all,” Bruno said.

Bruno’s address pointed to progress in academic programs, enrollment, hiring and budget.

Pursuing Excellence at ULM

The Pursuit will be held Thursday, August 24th, in the Fant-Ewing Coliseum with the dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. This event is being held to showcase all that the University of Louisiana Monroe has lined up for the upcoming school year.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe 2017-18 academic and athletic year takes off with The Pursuit, Thursday Aug. 24 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The Pursuit is named for the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk pursuit fighter planes flown by Gen. Claire Lee Chennault and the Flying Tigers in World War II. ULM’s Warhawk mascot was inspired by Chennault and his group of pilots and planes.
