Search Committee Formed For La Delta Chancellor

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) Board of Supervisors announced the Chancellor Search Committee for the next Chancellor of Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC). The goal of the comprehensive national search is to identify the best fit for LDCC moving forward. The search committee represents the diverse cultural composition of the greater Monroe and Northeast Louisiana region and includes representation of the college's broad stakeholder group.

Meet the Candidates for one of Louisiana's Senate seats on Tuesday, October 13 at Louisiana Delta Community College. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the LDCC Community Room. 

Candidates will each make an opening statement, answer a limited number of questions, and make a closing statement as to why he or she can best represent Louisiana in Washington, D.C. The event will be moderated by KEDM News and Public Affairs Director Cory Crowe.

Meet the Candidates for Louisiana's 5th District seat for U.S. Congress on Tuesday, October 6 at Louisiana Delta Community College. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the LDCC Community Room. 

Candidates will each make an opening statement, answer a limited number of questions, and make a closing statement as to why he or she can best represent Louisiana's 5th District in Washington, D.C. The event will be moderated by KEDM News Director Cory Crowe.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards addressed a packed house at the Historic Ruston Fire Station this morning. He announced a new initiave to establish a technology park in Ruston to be anchored by a new campus of Louisiana Delta Community College - Ruston.

Some members of Louisiana Delta Community College and the University of Louisiana at Monroe will be taking the day on, not off, on January 15, 2018. In 1994, Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act, designating the Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Holiday as a national day of service and charged the Corporation for National and Community Service with leading this effort.

The state's Community & Technical College System leaders are optimistic about the impact of a proposed two-year tuition-free plan heralded by President Obama in Tuesday night's State Of The Union.  Louisiana Community & Technical College System President Dr. Monty Sullivan says more people earning a college education is a positive.

"Those earning a diploma can strengthen our  economy and workforce," Sullivan said.  The program is estimated to be about $60 billion over ten years.
