David White Jr., 49, of Jonesville, Louisiana, was sentenced January 7, 2020, by U.S. District Judge Dee D. Drell, to serve 97 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for distribution of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Authorities say a man fatally overdosed while staying in a Louisiana sober-living home and three of his housemates have been arrested.

News outlets cite arrest records as saying 23-year-old Dylan McClendon allegedly never used heroin before, but gave the three men $20 as they went to buy the drug for the four of them.

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested 19-year-old Baylor Johnson, 24-year-old Lambert Louviere and 24-year-old Tyler Castro.


Louisiana Department of Corrections (DOC) investigators at Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola arrested a visitor in a shakedown late Saturday afternoon, and thwarted her attempt to smuggle drugs into the prison.

A 31-year-old postal carrier has pleaded guilty to taking mail containing prescription drugs. 

U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook, in a news release Thursday, said Bryan C. Massey, of Oak Ridge, entered the plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Karen L. Hayes to one count of theft of mail matter. 

Texas Man Sentenced to Five Years for Drug Charges

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced today that a Houston man was sentenced to 60 months in prison for selling and possessing methamphetamine in the Lake Charles area.

Raymond Earl Neal, 26, of Houston, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Donald E. Walter on one count of distribution of controlled substances and one count of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. He was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.


A former teacher is accused of improper conduct with several high school students. 

Christian J. Amos, age 25 of Monroe was arrested after an investigation by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Special Investigation Unit.  He is being held on numerous drug charges, prohibited sexual conduct between a educator and student, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Amos was formerly the choir teacher at Neville High School in Monroe. He resigned from the school in January.

He is being held in Ouachita Correctional Center on $90.000 bond.

Union Parish Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A Union Parish man has been arrested after police say they found meth and hydrocodone at a residence.

Edwin. T. Whitlock of Bernice was taken into custody after a call from Child Protective Services.

He was booked into the Union Parish jail on charges of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and distribution of methamphetamine. 

Louisiana State Police seizes $2 Million dollars' worth of Drugs

State Police said nearly two million dollars’ worth of drugs are off the streets of Central Louisiana as the result of the arrest of an Alexandria man. Trooper Scott Moreau said earlier this month detectives began investigating 37-year-old Derrick Felton for distribution of methamphetamine and he was later taken into custody during a traffic stop.

Moreau “found a large amount of narcotics on him and a large sum of cash, and later that day searched several residents and found more drugs and more cash.”
