The Downtown Arts Alliance is hosting this year's first Downtown Gallery Crawl on Thursday, February 6, from 6 - 9 p.m. The event provides a free and fun environment for the community to interact with, observe, and learn about fine art while continuing to revitalize our downtowns. 

Visitors are encouraged to begin their journey through the crawl in downtown Monroe where they can grab a passport booklet and collect a stamp from all ten galleries. Upon completing the passport, it can be traded in for a slice of cheesecake at Copeland's or a Crawl merchandise booth for a discount.

The North Louisiana Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (NorLEAP), a leader in growing and fostering entrepreneurism throughout North Louisiana, has announced its collaboration with Catalyst, a community-driven workspace in Monroe, with the purpose of connecting North Louisiana businesses with the right resources to help facilitate growth in the region.

Arts Council Hosting Five Free Concerts In October

The Arts Council of Northeast Louisiana once again presents its free Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series at noon on Wednesdays this October at Anna Gray Noe Park in downtown Monroe. The public is invited to pack a lunch and picnic with friends while enjoying some of the best musical talent in the area.

Join the Downtown Monroe Alliance and Sixcia Devine on October 25 for Grow with Google, an info-packed workshop dedicated to growing your business online. The workshop will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Monroe Convention Center. There is a $10 cost to provide snacks. Tickets are available now on Eventbrite.

Downtown Gallery Crawl

This Thursday, October 4, downtown Monroe and West Monroe will be transformed for our downtown gallery crawl from 5-9. This free event involves 10 galleries opening up to show local art, vendors stationed downtown and live music. You can find their website here

There's a diverse group of artists to see, several food trucks and artisans to buy from available Thursday night. There will be a new gallery open called Edges, curated by Clinton Whitney. Ben Moss and Amanda Row are working together on the outside gallery as well.

Free Block Party Spices Up Monroe Mardi Gras

The Downtown River Jam series is hosting a free Mardi Gras Block Party featuring live music, drink samples and food Saturday, February 3 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Mardi Gras Block Party is taking place at the corner of North 4th and Pine Street in Downtown Monroe. Jordan Sheppard kicks of live music on the Skent-N-Dent Stage, with the Stooges Brass Band headlining the evening festivities. There will be beer samples from Choice Brands, and Doe's Eat Place will have New Orleans style cuisine available for purchase.

Empty Bowls Fill Plates

Your empty bowl could fill another's plate Saturday, January 27 at Empty Bowls: A Serving of Food, Art, and Music! The fundraiser is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ouachita Candy Company Warehouse.

Empty Bowls is a fundraising event which benefits the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana. It presents local food, art, and live music. After a wildly successful first year in 2017, the Food Bank has decided to make this fundraiser an annual event in the community.
