One person was killed and three others were injured in a boat's collision with a parked barge in Louisiana.

The U.S. Coast Guard said in a news release that a 22-foot recreational boat with four passengers struck a barge around 4:15 a.m. Sunday and ran aground, ejecting one passenger near Bayou Segnette.

The barge launched a small boat to assist, recovering the ejected person.

One woman died and two women and one man were reported to be in serious and critical conditions.

The names of the victims haven't been released.

FRANKLINTON, La. (AP) - Authorities say a Louisiana woman was found shot to death in her bed. 

 News outlets report 40-year-old Donna Arceneaux was found in her bed Tuesday. 

 The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office said in a news release that two of the victim's friends were not able to contact her and went to her residence. When they arrived, they found Arceneaux with a shotgun wound to the chest. 

 Authorities say the fatality is being treated as an unclassified death.

A federal judge in Louisiana has ruled a jury must decide whether the shooting death of a handcuffed man in the rear of a patrol car was a suicide, accident or "at the hand of a sheriff's deputy."

 U.S. Magistrate Judge Patrick Hanna refused in a ruling filed Monday to throw out a lawsuit against Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal and a deputy over the March 2014 death of 22-year-old Victor White III.

Man Arrested In Death Of His 18-Month-Old Daughter

 A 45-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested and accused of stabbing and suffocating his 18-month-old daughter.

 New Orleans Police say they've arrested Mark Hambrick, of New Orleans, on one count each of second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. It was unknown if he's represented by an attorney.

 The toddler was found Tuesday, just after 7 a.m., suffering from multiple stab wounds to the body. Detectives learned the victim had also been suffocated. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

  A Mississippi man reported missing has been found dead inside his truck. 

 Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace told WAPT-TV that 71-year-old Eddie Brent went fishing on Saturday near the Steele Bayou Flood Control Structure and drove off the levee road. Brent was found Sunday afternoon in a Chevrolet pickup with a disabled license plate. 

 Pace said the cause of death was the wreck, but the state crime lab will conduct an autopsy.

 State police are investigating and a sheriff's deputy is on paid leave after an Arkansas woman died while handcuffed following a disturbance.

 According to officers, deputies responding to a disturbance near Springfield early Sunday used a chemical agent and a stun gun on 36-year-old Regina Twist of Hot Springs. After she was handcuffed, she became unresponsive and died. Autopsy results are pending.

The death of a Louisiana State University student who was reported missing and later found dead has been ruled a suicide.  

     East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner William "Beau" Clark said Monday that 21-year-old Michael Nickelotte Jr. died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Officials say the investigation into his death will remain closed unless further details emerge.  

Kansas Man Killed in Crash

Madison Parish – Yesterday afternoon, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Manhattan, KS.

Troopers responded to the crash around 3:30 p.m., which occurred on Interstate 20 east of Tallulah. The crash involved a 1993 Chevrolet van, driven by Jon J. Held (W/M 62 yrs). The Chevrolet was eastbound on Interstate 20 when Held lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree. 

Held was wearing his seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A car fleeing Louisiana State Police troopers has crashed in New Orleans, killing a 2-year-old girl and a man who were thrown from the vehicle. Police say a third man killed himself at the scene. 

Trooper Melissa Matey said the chase began Wednesday afternoon in downtown New Orleans when troopers noted a car with stolen license plates. It ended in eastern New Orleans when the car struck another vehicle, veered off the road and crashed into a fence.

Matey did not release the names of the deceased.

 Authorities are trying to determine how a 17-month-old girl wound up in a road where she was struck and killed by a truck.

The girl was struck Monday afternoon in St. Tammany Parish, while the toddler was visiting her grandmother's home in the Slidell area.

St. Tammany Parish sheriff's Capt. Daniel Seuzeneau said investigators were not yet sure how the toddler wound up in the path of oncoming traffic.
