Heatherly To Lead Monroe Chamber

Monroe- Roy W. Heatherly, a former resident of Monroe, was named as the new president and CEO of the Monroe Chamber today following confirmation by the Monroe Chamber Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

The City of West Monroe and West Monroe West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce is launching a new community pride campaign known as “Take West Monroe to the Next Level.” The effort was announced on the steps of City Hall in front of local business owners and civic leaders.

“Take West Monroe to the Next Level” is a community campaign to encourage business owners, residents, nonprofit organizations and others to take greater pride in West Monroe, particularly in the community’s appearance.

KEDM met with the candidates for Ouachita Parish and Monroe City School Boards. The public forum was held at the Monroe Civic Center on October 9.  

It was hosted by the Monroe and West Monroe - West Ouachita Chambers of Commerce and KEDM Public Radio. It was moderated by KEDM News Director Cory Crowe and ULM Political Science Professor Dr. Joshua Stockley.

The event will be held Tuesday, November 14 at Enoch's Irish Pub in Monroe. Policy and a Pint will begin at 5:30 pm with a meet and greet for our listeners. The radio discussion begins at 6 p.m. 

West Monroe - West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce

The West Monroe  - West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce presents the Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series. The event features local musicians performing at The Pavilion at 7th Square in West Monroe. The free lunchtime concerts are held near the West Monroe Farmer's Market

The Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series will be held at 12:00 p.m - 1:00 p.m.. every Wednesday during  the month of September. Free lemonade an tea are provided. Lunches are available for $5.00.
