Vehicle Burglary Investigation Leads To Arrest

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Investigators has identified and located suspect, Christopher Perez, after doing a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Avant Road, Country Estates Road and Sadie Lane areas of West Monroe. Photos of Perez were identified on a surveillance camera at the location of the crime.

Monroe has led to the arrest of Christopher Perez, age 20, of West Monroe.  He is currently being held in OCC on 1 count of Vehicle Burglary and 6 counts of Identity Theft.  The investigation is continuing, more charges are pending and more arrests are expected.

investigating the attempted burglary of Outlaw Ordinance in West Monroe that occurred during the early morning hours of July 27, 2018. 

 

Authorities are asking for anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspects pictured is asked to contact the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-329-1200.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for two suspects in connection with a robbery in West Monroe.

Law enforcement responded to a burglar alarm at a West Monroe business April 29 at 10:00 p.m.  Upon arrival, deputies found the front door glass broken out. After Further investigation, the deputies discovered two unidentified suspects  rode bicycles to the store, then broke the door glass and entered the business.

Monroe Teen Illegally Held For Months On Burglary Charge

A lawsuit claims Louisiana authorities have illegally detained a teenage boy for nearly a year after his burglary arrest.

The suit filed Tuesday by attorneys from the Southern Poverty Law Center seeks the 15-year-old boy's immediate release from a Monroe juvenile detention center. They say the boy, who was 13 when arrested, should have received a hearing 11 months ago to determine if he can be safely released.

Police say a Louisiana man accused of killing a woman is also suspected in a string of burglaries.

WBRZ-TV reports that St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputies found a dead woman when they were sent to a Mandeville home around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators learned that 39-year-old George Dargis, the suspect in the killing, was also wanted in four business burglaries Saturday morning in which a vehicle was driven into buildings to gain access.

Police say two men showed badges and shouted "police, get on the ground" as they burglarized a home in Baton Rouge.

 

The Advocate reports the burglars kicked down a back door and waved pistols inside the home after a resident refused to let them in after they showed a badge.

Authorities say five juveniles broke into Tiger Stadium at Louisiana State University, the latest in a series of break-ins at the facility.

 

LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard tells The Advocate that the boys were cited for unauthorized entry into a place of business and released after the Saturday afternoon incident. No damage was reported.

 

Authorities said the football field's turf was damaged by people who got into the stadium during the overnight hours in January 2017.
