The Student Youth Academy for the Arts (SYAA) will be performing Disney's Frozen, Jr. the last week of Sepetember. The musical will follow the orginal storyline of the blockbuster hit, Frozen, but features new songs that give the story a fresh, new face. The show will be playing at SYAA's theater on 1300-1/2 Lamy Lane, Monroe, LA 71201. You can reserve your tickets or buy at the door, and they cost $14 for adults and $10 for students.

The SYAA program has been a popular group in NELA's arts community for some time now, and they have successfully developed a reputation for performing excellent stage productions like The Wizard of Oz or Annie the Musicl that enrich the culture of our community. This time, Walter May-Allen, Director of SYAA, has decided to take on the new hit musical, Frozen, Jr.

May-Allen says that he's been waiting to do this musical for some time now, and "the rights were finally released to do the show earlier this year." After the release, May-Allen got to work as soon as he could on the show, and the kids, ages 8-18, have been practicing for over a month now.

With opening day just around the corner, SYAA invites you to join in on the fun and come see the hard work these kids have put in. The schedule for Frozen, Jr. will be:

Saturday, Sept. 21st: 2 and 7 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 22nd: 3 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 28th: 2 and 7 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 29th: 3 p.m.

The program also is opening an invitation to any children that want to come see what theater is all about and possibly get involved in future productions. SYAA offers everything from acting to dancing classes for children after school, and it is a great hobby for kids looking for something to do in their free time.
