The Monroe Symphony Orchestra's new season is opening with a Symphony in Lights. This combination of light and sound will be held Saturday, October 21, at 7 p.m. in the West Monroe High School Auditorium.

The Symphony in lights will pair Beethoven's Symphony No.7 and a light show together for a unique orchestra experience. Clay Couturiaux, conductor of the orchestra, shares that this symphony in particular will be an interesting experience for patrons and guests of the Monroe Symphony. Couturiaux says, "The light show will basically put the music into motion. Each of the sounds from the different sections of the orchestra will correspond with a different hue of light." This symphony will also highlight new, upcoming talent. The 2017 Majorie Stricklin Emerging Artist Competition Winner, Darko Varga, will be taking stage to perform Rachmoninoff's Piano Concerto No.2.
