Records Sealed in Cases of Women Accused in Baby's Death

Court records have been sealed from the public in the cases of two women accused in the 2018 burning death of a 6-month-old boy.

The Alexandria Town Talk reports the order to seal the cases was issued last week. Hanna Barker and Felicia Marie-Nicole Smith were indicted on first-degree murder in the death of Barker's son, Levi Cole Ellerbe.

Authorities say Barker told police in July that Levi was kidnapped by men who pepper-sprayed her. A motorist reported a fire nearby Barker's home about an hour later, and Levi was found at scene and covered in third- and second-degree burns. He later died.

Prosecutors have said Barker and Smith were in a sexual relationship, and Barker asked Smith to kill Levi. Their trials were set for January and April, respectively.
