Ouachita Parish Man Booked For Kidnapping And Other Charges

An alleged kidnapping happened in Monroe on Monday morning.  The police were called to an incident on Lincoln Road in Monroe. An Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office release says a woman was taken against her will by her estranged husband and was traveling in a vehicle.

OPSO Deputies made a traffic stop and found the woman with minor injuries.

Anthony Cooper, age 36 of Monroe, was arrested.

He was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of False Imprisonment and Simple Battery. Cooper also had four outstanding warrants. 

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
