A Monroe man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distribution of methamphetamine Wednesday.

Devin S. McMillian, 27, from Bastrop, La was sentenced on one count of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. He was also sentenced to five years of supervised release. On Feb. 16, 2017, Ouachita Parish Sheriff's office deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle McMillian was driving. They found 23 grams of methamphetamine. After the arrest, McMillian made a call from prison to a friend and allegedly told that friend to travel to his house and retrieve some items.

Deputies overheard the call and searched the house. They found 754.9 grams of methamphetamine and one gram of marijuana.
