LA PRIZE FEST RETURNS- The Louisiana Prize Fest is returning in-person, at a press conference at the Shreveport Arts Center downtown yesterday organizers shared the news that after an unprecedented year of Pandemic. The return of this year’s festival is significant as it’s the 10-year anniversary of the event. Prize Fest was among the slew of events impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Instead of canceling the event, the organization pivoted to a virtual format.
Festival founder and Executive Director Gregory Kallenberg explained this year’s event is going to be a mix of both virtual and in-person.
"The important thing about Prize Fest is that we made accommodations for everyone," Kallenberg said. "Making accommodations like putting our films online, and also doing the Big Top Theater which is essentially an open-air theater and also our events like Music Prize, being open-air venues is incredibly important. Again, we want to welcome everyone."
Prize Fest offers cash prizes in each competitive category and will take place over two weekends. Fashion Prize and Music Prize events will occur Sept. 24-26. Film Prize, Food Prize, and Comedy Prize will be on Sept. 30-Oct. 3.
