The race for Ouachita Parish Police Jurt District F will be between Donnie Bright, Roland W. Edwards, Lonnie Hudson, Verbon R. Muhammad, Sr., Sonja Smith-Schaffer, and Clifford "Cliff" Thomas.
Ouachita Parish residents had a chance to meet local candidates at the 90.3 KEDM Public Radio Candidate Forums. KEDM, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Government Association hosted three Candidate Forums in September.
The Candidate Forums were an opportunity for residents, business andcommunity leaders to learn more about the candidates. Forums were broadcast LIVE on 90.3 KEDM Public Radio, KEDM.org, and Facebook Live; and archived at KEDM.org.
The election will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019. The deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is September 11, or online September 21, 2019. Early voting takes place September 28, 30, and October 1-5, 2019.
Candidates in contested races were invited to attend the forum pertaining to their office. Each candidate was given an opportunity to introduce themselves to the audience. In addition, candidates were asked questions by the forums’ moderator, KEDM News Director Cory Crowe.
