Whether KEDM is in the community with in-depth discussions, or just coming to an event to say "Hi" to our listener friends, you can learn more here.

Give the Joy of Learning with KEDM

Share your passion to learn new things and impact a child’s life!

(CLICK HERE) To make your tax-deductible year-end gift to KEDM. Your donation gives the gift of reading to children in our local public schools.

Over 77 percent of public school fourth graders in Louisiana are unable to read at grade level according to The Children’s Defense Fund. The third-grade reading level is widely recognized as a key indicator of a child’s future educational success.

Through KEDM’s Holiday Drive and Year End Campaign, you can send each second grader home for the holidays with a book for his or her own library.

$20 to KEDM places a book in the hands of a child. $100 sends 5 children home for the holidays with books.

Your gift today to KEDM directly impacts students in 12 area schools with the lowest reading levels, with approximately 25 students in each classroom. (See the complete list of schools below.)

Building a child’s home library this holiday season is a gift with an impact that can last a lifetime.

You trust KEDM throughout the year as your place to find new ideas, people, and music. This season, when you support the station that brings you that joy of discovery, you are also unlocking the door of reading for a child in our community.

It takes a pencil to write a story, a book to open a mind, and a small donation to make a difference. Help KEDM light the path to academic excellence!

KEDM Staff and Volunteers will deliver books to the following schools starting December 13:

  • City of Monroe: Berg Jones, Carver, Clara Hall, Jefferson, Madison J. Foster
  • Ouachita Parish: Lenwil, Robinson, Shady Grove, Swayze
  • Lincoln Parish: Hillcrest, Lincoln Prep
  • Union Parish: Union

KEDM appreciates Give the Joy of Learning campaign sponsors and local agencies: Fiesta Nutrition Center, Russell and Cynthia Woodard, Friends of KEDM, an anonymous donor, The United Way of Northeast Louisiana, and The Children's Coalition for Northeast Louisiana
