Former Monroe Teacher Accused Of Improper Sexual Conduct With Students

A former teacher is accused of improper conduct with several high school students. 

Christian J. Amos, age 25 of Monroe was arrested after an investigation by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Special Investigation Unit.  He is being held on numerous drug charges, prohibited sexual conduct between a educator and student, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Amos was formerly the choir teacher at Neville High School in Monroe. He resigned from the school in January.

He is being held in Ouachita Correctional Center on $90.000 bond.

The Sheriff’s investigation was assisted by Monroe Police, Louisiana State Police, and the FBI. Authorities say the investigation is still underway. 

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
