Fire engulfed a three-story, 150-year-old mansion in New Orleans, but a 92-year-old woman and two other residents escaped unharmed.

The Times-Picayune reports that an elderly poodle also escaped from the home's second fire in 12 years. Authorities said the fire apparently started in the basement. The cause is unknown.
The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans says the house is believed to have been renovated and expanded from one built before 1865.
The relative of Montgomery's who bought the house in 1906 was king of the 1907 Rex parade, a Mardi Gras procession that stops at the house annually for a toast.
