UPDATE:

The University of Louisiana System board named Dr. Edwin Litolff interim president of the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  The meeting was streamed live on the UL System YouTube Channel on Tuesday morning.

Following is the email Dr. Henderson sent to the UL System board members today, Monday, May 11, 2020.

“As you know, the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic caused the ULM Presidential Search Committee to move the on-campus interview sessions to the week of August 17, the first week possible to engage a substantial number of students, faculty, and staff in our selection process. Since President Bruno’s last day in office will be June 30, the new schedule dictates the appointment of an interim president.

“Tomorrow, I will recommend you appoint Dr. Edwin Litolff as the interim president. Edwin has served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the UL System for more than five years. He has significant experience and a breadth of expertise in areas of finance and enrollment management. He has in-depth knowledge of the operating environment at ULM and was instrumental in our work last year securing the needed financial support for ULM School of Pharmacy. In addition, Edwin has been integrally involved in the System’s planning and response related to COVID-19. He is ideally suited for what should be a 120-day interim appointment, especially in the current environment. I fully expect he will work capably with the ULM leadership team and faculty, providing stable stewardship and even moving the institution forward in anticipation of the next president taking office October 1.

"Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.”
