The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisiana Field Office is hosting its 13th annual Physically Challenged Deer Hunt January 20, 2018 at the Columbia Lock and Dam. Eight disabled hunters are to be selected to hunt on the approximately 400 acres in the Columbia Lock and Dam area, located at 580 Lock Office Road, Columbia, LA 71418.

This annual hunt provides a unique opportunity to a very special group of participants and bolsters support for the wildlife management practices set in place for the area. The Hunters will use primitive firearms and will be escorted to box stands designed to be wheelchair accessible. These hunters will be accompanied by volunteers/family to assist them during the deer hunt.

Applications for the hunt may be picked up at the Columbia Lock and Dam. For further information on this hunt you may contact Mitch Strode (318-381-0482), Mitchel.L.Strode@usace.army.mil or David May (318-331-4027) David.W.May@usace.army.mil
