In-home care health services can allow seniors to live comfortbaly in their homes as they age.

Jennifer Bass, Client Services Coordinator at Always Best Care Senior Services, talked about how in-home care services allow an older adult to age in place.

Aging in place is the ability to live in one’s own home safely and independently regardless of age and income.

Some basic in home care services Bass mentioned are the changing of bedsheets, meal preparation and assistance getting in and out of a shower. Bass clarified that the services does not include medical care.

“The beauty of our service is that you can have Always Best Care, the company I work for, and your home health or hospice at the same time,” said Bass. “If you have home health or hospice come in, they are always considered interment care.”

Bass explained that Always Best Care can provide services for a minimum of four hours or up to 24/7 depending on what the client’s needs are.

“We provide skilled employees to come in and make sure our clients are clean and their homes are clean and they are getting the meals they need,” said Bass.

A senior’s diet has great influence on their health and the services provided by Always Best Care does include preparing and cooking of meals.

“We have some wonderful cooks who are employed by our company,” said Bass.

Bass explained that employees can sit down with a client, plan meals for the week, go shopping for the groceries and cook.

The services provided by Always Best Care are covered by long-term care insurance, according to Bass.

“It’s covered by long-term care insurance, and our company also takes private pay,” said Bass.

Bass added that Always Best Care are supports of veterans and does a lot of work with the Veteran Affairs
