Tristan McGowen

Assistant Producer

Tristan McGowen is a senior communications major at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He works as assistant producer for the ULM Forum. and is also the sports editor for The Hawkeye student newspaper.

Tristan enjoys working with all forms of media and likes to spend his time covering ULM sporting events, with his favorite being basketball. After graduation he plans on becoming a field reporter for a professional sports organization.

Tristan knows the value of bringing information to the public and enjoys doing his part every day to contribute to a greater understanding of the world around him.

Ways to Connect

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will offer a Doctor of Physical Therapy in the College of Health Sciences. The announcement was made Wednesday, August 22, at the Louisiana Board of Regents meeting.

According to Dr. Ken Alford, the interim dean of the College of Health Sciences, faculty and University leaders have been working for many years to achieve this goal.

When asked what it means for rural health to have a physical therapy school at ULM, Alford was confident in the opportunity it will bring to the community.

NELA Arts Council

The Herons on the Bayou Project, as announced by Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Louisiana Monroe and creative mind behind the project, Brooke Foy, will be the largest, most widespread public art project to come to the area. 

With help from the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council, Delta Regional Authority, The Monroe - West Monroe Convention & Visitors Bureau, ULM and many more, the brand new public art project is set to come to Ouachita and surrounding parishes sometime next year.

University of Louisiana at Monroe Chief Administrative Officer Scott McDonald has been named to the position of Interim Director of Athletics. The announcement came by ULM President Dr. Nick J Bruno on Tuesday September 4.

Being an athlete himself, McDonald was excited when he got the announcement.

"I was a student-athlete here, I came in Fall of '79 and graduated in 1983 and been involved with the programs in various different capacities since playing here and this is just a really really exciting time for me and my family"
