Sheriff Jay Russell and Deputies are mourning the loss of one of our own, Lieutenant Michael Swallow. Lieutenant Swallow passed away this evening, January 8, 2022. He was a 25 year veteran of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and supervised the Records and Identification Divisions. He was very well respected by fellow Deputies, the Law Enforcement community and his many friends. Arrangements are incomplete at this time, more information will be forthcoming.

Lieutenant Swallow spent his entire career serving the citizens of Ouachita Parish. His final act of service is to give the gift of life through organ donation.

“I would like to thank everyone for your prayers and ask that you continue to keep his family, his fellow Deputies and friends in your prayers during this time as we mourn our loss” said Sheriff Jay Russell.
