The project involves abandoning in place three reciprocating units totaling 3,070 horsepower, which are considered obsolete and unnecessary for Gulf South's service obligations in the area.
This action is part of the Sterlington Compressor Station Abandonment Project, aimed at updating and optimizing the infrastructure. Local residents and stakeholders have until December 30, 2024, to file protests, motions to intervene, or comments regarding this project with FERC.
