A bus driver was stopped by two Ascension Parish men. Officers say the men, 58-year-old Clifton Hamby and 60-year-old Kerry LaSaicherre, stopped the bus because they felt the driver was speeding.
The bus had students on board when the two men stopped the driver. The driver said he noticed one of the men was openly carrying a handgun on his waist.
Lieutenant corporal Ward Webb of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said after the driver was stopped there was allegedly an altercation which caused the bus driver to drive away to safety before calling the police.
