Abraham Says Judge Overreaching

Congressman Ralph Abraham

Congressman Ralph Abraham says the 9th Circuit Court  is overreaching.

He says he stands with Donald Trump on the second try at an travel ban.

Abraham said, “I certainly think the judge is overreaching.”

“Since 2014 there have been almost 600 cases of terrorism prosecuted in this country.”

President Trump’s second order would not be the first time a group of immigrants was singled out.

The Immigration Act of 1924 tied immigration quotas to the percentage of ethnic groups already in the United States. Many called the act an attempt to keep large masses of Italian and Jewish immigrants from overwhelming the racial balance of the time.  It limited immigration quotas to 2 percent of the total number of people in each nationality based on the 1890 census and excluded all Asians.

Currently a Judge on the 9th Circuit Court in Hawaii has said the order discriminates on the basis of nationality.
