Montessori School of Ruston Marks 30 Anniversary

The Montessori School of Ruston is celebrating 30 years of education in Lincoln Parish.

School administrator Renee Hunt has led the campus for the 25 of those years.  "I was president of the board when the  school's founder Barbara Crockett moved.  She handed the school over to the board, and that's how my job began," said Hunt.

Hunt says the school emphasizes key characteristics for students.  "Grace and courtesy, kindness and respect.  It is a process for we encourage for each of our students."

In addition to preschool through 8th grade, the school began a new toddler program last year.  Hunt says the school has seen positive results because of excellent student to teacher ratios. It can also lend to a smooth transition into high school.

"We like to follow our students progress,' says Hunt.  "They're so eager to take their learning to the high school level.  It's exciting to hear about their success."
