Mornings at Biedenharn Museum

Campers can spend five mornings this summer exploring the many facets of Monroe’s Biedenharn Museum and Gardens. Activities are designed to be fun and educational. They include art projects, homemade Ice Cream for Coke Floats, creating a personal water fountain, wind chimes, and setting off Diet Coke Geysers. Mornings at the Museum is open for children aged 8-11. Monday – Introduction to the Biedenharn Campers get an overview of the Biedenharn four museums, The Coke Museum, Bible Museum, Historic Home and Gardens. Tuesday - The Coke Museum, after learning about the first bottling of Coca-Cola and the development of the Coke Bottle, Campers will make Coke Floats using homemade Ice Cream. Wednesday – Art is the theme of the day, Campers will get inspiration from The Sutton Collection which is on display in the Bible Museum. Thursday – Decorative arts in the historic Biedenharn Home will lead to discussions about collecting and an object guessing game. The morning finishes in the Garden where campers will plant large pots using a color wheel. Friday – Campers celebrate the end of a great week creating windchimes for their personal gardens and by setting off Diet Coke Geysers.
