Northeast Delta HSA has an ongoing series of FREE Faith Partnership Initiative training events focused on helping faith communities deal with addiction in their congregations and memberships. This is another in the series. This two-day training focuses on equipping clergy with knowledge and skills to initiate and support prevention and addiction recovery ministry efforts in faith congregations and communities. The training will be hosted by Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, executive director, Northeast Delta HSA. Facilitated discussions will be led by Mr. Drew Brooks, executive director, Faith Partners Inc., and Rev. Otto Schultz, associate trainer, Faith Partners, Inc. Objectives - At the end of the training attendees will be better able to: -Recognize the impact of addiction on individuals, families, and congregations. -Utilize opportunities to educate and support those affected and afflicted by addiction. -Demonstrate essential self-care skills. -Identify effective prevention strategies in the life of the congregation. -Illustrate how clergy and laity successfully work together in this vital ministry.
