Louisiana State Games return to Monroe

Monroe, LA – Louisiana State Games are back! The Louisiana State Games Middle School Basketball Championship will be held January 26-27 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Activity Center.

This event is expected to bring an estimated economic impact of over $120,700 to Ouachita Parish.

The Championship will consist of 25 teams. Games start at 4 pm on Friday and play continues at 9 am on Saturday.

“We are excited for a great weekend of competition for the athletes and their families,” said Scott Bruscato, Discover Monroe-West Monroe Executive Vice President of Sales.

The Louisiana State Games were developed to promote amateurism in sports, paying special attention to an improved quality of life. The Louisiana State Games attracts a wide range of athletes from a variety of different backgrounds, ages and skill levels. The Louisiana Games will develop programs that fit the athletic and lifestyle needs of the Louisiana public. As a member of the National Congress of State Games (NCSG), which is a community based, multi-sport member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), Louisiana is committed to enhance and promote participation in amateur sports.
